Christian Bale is returning to the Pittsburgh area less than a year after wrapping up The Dark Knight Rises there last summer.
The Pittsburgh Business Times is reporting that director Scott Cooper will begin production on Out of the Furnace in Braddock, PA in April.
I think it's tremendous," said Braddock Mayor John Fetterman. "We're deeply flattered that Mr. Cooper and Christian Bale and others with the production were adamant about doing it in Western Pennsylvania."
The movie, which is set in Indiana, will star Bale as an ex-convict attempting to return to society. Robert Duvall and Zoe Saldana are also set star.
According to the Pittsburgh Film Office, the production is already starting to crew up. "Feature film OUT OF THE FURNACE now accepting crew resumes," their website states. "If you are interesting in applying, please send your resume to: outofthefurnace@gmail.com."
