An A3 sized drawing I made for my son's 18th birthday, illustrating all the folk he likes in music, film and TV. It was a blast to do, although some of the faces were very difficult to get a likeness from, while others just happened without any help from me! In particular, I had to give up with Christian Bale...I even traced a photo of him and it didn't look anything like.I have also discovered that it is very difficult to draw beautiful women and make them look like who they are supposed to be...Lew wanted Kirsten Dunst on the drawing, but after five attempts I had to give up. As usual, this is on cartridge paper using a 0.05 Staedtler Pigment Liner. I draw round and round the outline with it, sketching in until I get a bolder line...it somehow gives a margin for error and nuance that using a thicker pen wouldn't give. | | The whole picture... |
