New posters to promote the hotly anticipated comic book epic The Dark Knight Rises have been released. The first, revealed on the official Facebook page, shows our hero Batman (Christian Bale) standing underneath a fiery version of the original teaser poster, with the tagline "A fire will rise". Whether this is metaphoric or whether Bane's (Tom Hardy) criminal antics will set Gotham ablaze has yet to be seen.
The next set of images reflect Selina Kyle's (Anne Hathaway) statement in the third trailer about a "storm coming" as a sequence of posters released on The Dark Knight Rises' French Facebook page show the main three characters of the film (Batman, Bane and Catwoman) amidst snow and rain, with the taglines "The legend ends" and "Rise" across them.
These seriously cool posters add to the already high level of anticipation for Christopher Nolan's final Batman outing, which may still be needed as Avengers Assemble still dominates the superhero spotlight.
The Dark Knight Rises is released on July 20th 2012 in the UK.
