The College Culinarian: Peppered Turkey on Sourdough with Bacon ...

Ok guys, it's time we tackle this bacon craze that has swept America. It's getting a bit out of hand. Why would anyone, anywhere want to suck down a bacon milkshake? Eat a bacon taco made out of a bacon shell? Drink bacon vodka? Frost a cake with BACON FROSTING?

Phew, I got a lil' bit of angina just typing that.

First of all, all of this "I <3 bacon" talk clearly puts sausage, the true #1 breakfast meat, at a disadvantage. There are serious logistical problems in forming a sausage taco shell. Plus, sausage links are WAY harder to suck up in a milkshake straw.

I mean, I'm totally guessing on that last one.

Bacon should be the Robin of a meal, not the Batman. (Alternatively, the Barnacle Boy rather than the Mermaid Man if you're a Spongebob Squarepants fan.) It's nicer as the sidekick rather than the scene-stealing action hero.

The little bit of bacon in this turkey sandwich makes it as delicious as Christian Bale looks in Batman.

Tasty.

Peppered Turkey on Sourdough with Bacon Mayo   Serves:1

3-4 sliced peppered deli turkey

2 slices sourdough bread

1 T. light mayo

1/2 t. "real" bacon bits

Lettuce

Tomato

Salt and pepper

1.) Mix the bacon and mayo together in a small bowl.

2.) Lay the turkey, lettuce, tomato, and a pinch of salt and pepper over the tomatoes on one slice of bread. Spread the bacon mayo on the other. Assemble and eat!
