Taking a page from the Batman playbook, Sony will preview six minutes of The Amazing Spider-Man in front of IMAX 3-D showings of Men in Black 3, which opens at midnight this Thursday. Last December, Christopher Nolan unveiled the prologue to his Dark Knight Rises before IMAX screenings of Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol. Of course, we've seen a lot more of the new Spider-Man, including a recent four-minute clip from the reboot, than we have of Christian Bale's last turn behind the cowl. But positive buzz continues to grow for the new Spidey, who somehow despite nearly $2.5 billion in worldwide grosses, finds himself as the box-office underdog sandwiched between the Avengers and Batman. The Amazing Spider-Man opens July 3.
