New images of 'The Bat', the latest vehicle in Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise, have surfaced. Taken from the book 'The Dark Knight Manual: Tools, Weapons, Vehicles and Documents from the Batcave', which will be released 26th June, these images give us a detailed look at Batman's newest toy – which is in keeping with the bulky, militaristic look of the previous films' Tumbler. Obviously this fits in well with Nolan's world, and this manual shows how practical the design is. I must admit though, I do miss the slick and stylistic days of Burton and would have loved to have seen H.R. Giger's design for the BATMAN FOREVER (1995) Batmobile on the screen. No matter what your opinion though, we all know that Nolan isn't one to simply add new characters and vehicles to shift toys *cough*BATMAN AND ROBIN (1997)* cough*. No doubt he will utilise The Bat very well, and a few flying scenes on an IMAX screen never hurt anyone.
The Dark Knight Rises is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Morgan Freeman.
