Whether one chooses to point the finger at pop culture or blame human nature, the truth is undeniable. Society has become desensitized to the point of absurdity. As the Luka Magnotta case continues to make headlines, the number of "fans" and "admirers" continue to grow. The fact that the media continuously finds ways to glamorize the famed killer (I.e. dubbing the porn actor "Canadian Psycho" because he featured a song from the Christian Bale movie "American Psycho" when murdering and dismembering Lin Jun) leaves very little hope for the future. If that were not disturbing enough, there are people voluntarily searching the web for the gruesome video posted by Magnotta. How low have we, as a society, stooped to perceive this tragedy as exciting or entertaining?
