The Night, The Dark Knight
Batman hopes to become a normal man rather than a superhero and hands his fighting duty to the District Attorney Harvey Dent. But the vigilante bat has to come back to save the world from the clown-faced criminal, The Joker. The director, Christopher Nolan, has created the biggest blockbuster of the year by combining crime, action, romance and adventure.
Once again, Christian Bale has shown us that he is the man with the bat (which no one else can take from him). In the film, he clanks around in a light titanium costume with his heavy duty black, brutal batmobile. Last but not least, Bale's Batman is a real batman because he has everything that a batman should have. He has martial art skills, tactical tricks, two personalities (Batman and Bruce Wayne), tremendous technological genius and he is very cunning.
When Heat Ledger appears in the movie as The Joker, he is completely unrecognisable. His face is absolutely splattered with make-up. Ledger's Joker is the embodiment of anarchy; he is a ruthless villain who cares for nothing, not even himself. He causes chaos where ever he goes and pushes everyone to their absolute limit. In order to show Batman that there are no rules to this game and that everyone will give into evil anger in the end.
The young, new faced hero in Gotham is the dazzling District Attorney Harvey Dent, played by Aaron Eckhart. He believes that Gotham needs a faced hero, not some bat who camouflages at night. Harvey is dating Rachel Dawes, played by Maggie Gyllenhaal; the love of batman's life.
Christopher Nolan's jaw-dropping film, The Dark Knight, has set a single day box-office receipts record. By bringing $155.34 million, beating Spider-man 3, which was $151.1 million. Mattel, the official toy licensor for the "The Dark Knight", has bunched new toys which includes play-sets and role-playing items. Rob Novikas, the spokesperson for Mattel, said that the toy line was very popular with kids and especially adult collectors.
Verdict:
In conclusion, giving a massive profitable smash in Hollywood, Nolan has made himself proud and us for him. He has gained more respect from people and gained more achievement in life. But I think that Nolan can think more outside of the box and create a movie which no one else has imagined. I wish him every success in life.
