"The Dark Knight" was a tremendous film, but do you know why it was? MTV has created a list that analyzes what made "The Dark Knight" great and what "The Dark Knight Rises" needs to do in order to be as much of a success as "The Dark Knight."
Some of the things MTV talks about are that "Rises" has to be able to make the audience think while keeping them on the edge of their seat, "Rises" has to stay realistically dark, and the film can't be dumbed down to audiences. You can read the full list at MTV.
I think Christopher Nolan already knew what he needed to do to make "The Dark Knight Rises" a runaway success, and from what people have seen already, it's well on its way to possibly surpassing "The Dark Knight," if not breaking even with it.

"The Dark Knight Rises" stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Liam Neeson. The film is the final chapter of the "Batman" series by Christopher Nolan.
