The anticipation is over, as it has been confirmed that Christian Bale will play the late Steve Jobs in an upcoming Danny Boyle-directed biopic which starts filming in a few months. The Apple CEO, identifiable by that black polo-neck at must-see TV Apple product roll-outs, was the first among the celebrity tech CEO’s, with his face recognizable in all corners of the globe. The complicated man’s story was penned in what might be the definitive book on him by Walter Issacson, an authorized biography which was published shortly after Job’s death in late 2011.

Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin confirmed Bale’s casting in an interview with Bloomberg Television, stating categorically, “We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale.”
This was one role that everyone worth their salt in Hollywood wanted to play, with names like Bradley Cooper, Leonardo Di Caprio and Matt Damon coming up.
Bale will first take care of promotional duties as the Ridley Scott epic, Exodus: Gods and Kings, in which Bale stars as Moses, hits U.S. theaters on December 12.
