Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Isn’t Ashton Kutcher enough? Seems like people are still thirsting for more of Apple co-founder genius Steve Jobs on the silver screen. Aaron Sorkin, who penned the Oscar nominated “The Social Network,” has just confirmed that Bale, 40, has been cast in the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic.
The Academy Award winning Sorkin, who will write the screenplay for the said biopic, further told Bloobmerg News that Bale is “really is a phenomenal actor” and did not have to audition for the part.
“We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range, and that’s Chris Bale,”Sorkin further explained. “He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined.”
Sorkin is confident about “The Dark Knight” actor’s portrayal of Jobs and even said with total assurance,” “He’s going to crush it.”
The upcoming biopic is based on the authorized biography “Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson, a former CNN and TIME executive, who also authored best-selling biographies of other greats, such as Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin. The film will be helmed by Danny Boyle (“Slumdog Millionaire,” “127 Hours”) but has no confirmed release date yet.
Jobs died in 2011 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. In 2013, Kutcher played the titular role in 2013’s “Jobs.”
Bale, an Oscar nominated actor, will grace the big screen this year as Moses in Ridley Scott’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings.”
