Culver City, CA, United States (4E) – The Sony Corp hacking scandal has grown deeper, with detailed and identifiable health information on more than three dozen employees and their families found to have been taken.

The said information on the employees, which include health information as to their spouses and their children, were contained in human resource memos. The information includes the condition and treatment of children, one being a special needs child as well as the appeal of one employee on a denied medical claim.

These documents are but part of a recent hacking attack on the Sony Pictures company office based in Culver City, Ca. The intrusion resulted in thousands of internal memos and files becoming open to the public, especially in the file sharing sites used by the hackers. Amongst the most publicized were racist comments by executives on President Barack Obama, as well as potshots at stars such as Angelina Jolie. Other sensitive information include salaries of employees, health conditions, ranging from cancer, kidney failure and liver cirrhosis.

Officially, Sony confirmed that it was the target of a cyber attack which made public internal emails and other company data. It had officially acknowledged that data was stolen but have not officially confirmed what specific documents were taken.

The hackers, who call themselves Guardians of Peace, have been slowly releasing documents since the attack occurred last November 24. Sony is now conducting an internal probe and have established that the attack has been linked to hackers known as DarkSeoul . This was confirmed by two people familiar with the company investigation.

Other Information released include the following:

a) There was information released as to the back end compensation received by Oscar nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence for the film “American Hustle”. According to released information, she received only 7%, together with co-star Amy Adams. On the other hand, male stars Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale received 9% in back end compensation. Originally, Lawrence was set to receive just 5%.

b) There were leaked emails recommending how Sony CEO Amy Pascal should handle a meeting with President Obama at a Jeffrey Katzenberg event. It was recommended that they need to include movies at the event featuring black cast members, or ones where comedian Kevin Hart had starred in. For its part, the White House, through its spokesperson Josh Earnest had agreed that an apology from the embattled Sony CEO was ‘appropriate’ at the moment.

In an interview with Deadline, Sony CEO Amy Pascal said of the content of the emails, “I’ll apologize to everybody, every day, but I have to run this company. That means taking care of the employees here and so I have to be strong because I have a big company here. The truth is, all anyone is talking about are these e-mails. It is important not to forget that a crime was committed and that this is the new way of the world. This could have happened to anyone. It happened to Target and it happened to Home Depot. This is what’s happening, and we have to figure out how to defend ourselves and how to take care of ourselves in this new world.”
